Welcome everyone to this weeks iOS reviews, because school is starting right around the corner I decided to pick games that will get you over that first little hump. To start I looked at Happy Cube Death Arena. In this game you play as a little blue jelly cube who is always smiling. The gamer’s objective is to dodge these obstacles ranging from lasers to polls with spikes on them while creating the highest possible combo. What I liked about this game was how easy it is to pick up and play. In reality you will only need 5 minutes with this game to have a good round. Another aspect of this game that I thought was good was that there was a multiplier. For every six obstacles that you dodge you gain an initial multiplier and it continues to grow so can hit the really numbers of obstacles dodged. The problem that this game faces is that it is a fairly monotonous experience. If you are into something with a little more substance than this game is definitely not for you. Overall this is a fun little experience and it will help you with getting through the days with your horrible teachers.
The second game that I looked at this week is a block breaker type of experience. Candy BB is a block breaking game, your objective is to shoot an object at blocks that are floating and destroy each one to progress to following level. This game has everything that one would expect from a Block Breaker. For instance it has all the power ups that one would want. An aspect that I enjoyed about the game was that all the levels where continues. The reason that I liked this was because it made the game flow well and kept it intense but fun. What I liked about this game was how it felt. What I mean by this is that it is set in a tropical world so it will allow you reminisce about the great summer you had, also the object you are shooting at the blocks (which are candy) is a fluff ball with two eyes. As you can probably tell this game does not take itself overly serious and it realizes what it is and executes the premise of a block breaker game quite well.
In the mood for a new tower defense game that will keep you addicted? If that is the case then I have got something for you. The final game that I looked at was Alien Creeps a tower defense game that takes place in the future and your enemies are aliens who are creeps. This game has great artwork and design. As far as TD’s go this game is not anything new, it has all the towers that we have come to expect from Tower Defense games so if you are looking for a new and 100% innovative experience then this is not the game you have been waiting for but that does not mean you should bury this game. The craftsmen ship behind this game is fantastic; you can tell that the team had put a lot of effort into making this experience a complete game that works well. Gamers will notice while playing this game that the team took all the good aspects out of games that where successful and meshed them into one cohesive experience that the grizzled TD veterans will have fun playing but also the less experienced players will have a blast playing. Well folks that that’s all she wrote for this week I hope you are able to find something that will appeal to you and have a wonderful week.
