I always try to have a variety of games per week, but sometimes it is nice to sit back and review one specific genre so present to you Puzzle Me week! The first game I looked at was TwoDots. TwoDots is a game where you must complete the objective of each level to progress onto harder levels, how you do this is by connecting the dots. There are multiple colours of dots and all you need to do is at least connect two of them to eliminate them from the board but if you are able to create a box with these dots then you can eliminate all the dots on the board of the same colour. What I really liked about TwoDots is the variety of levels and how each one of them makes you think of the best way to achieve your objective, gamers will be pulled right into this game as they will be hooked immediately. What I did not like was the fact that at times the only way you could beat a level was if luck was on your side. This is a bit of a pain because in a good puzzle game you should be able to get yourself out of any jam with a little bit of brain power and this is what this game was lacking. All in all this is a great way to start Puzzle Me week.
To continue with the Puzzle Me week the second game that I looked at was Folt! Folt is a game where matching coloured squares is what’s hip. I enjoyed this game because of the simplicity behind it and because of this you can just kind of Zen out when diving into this experience. All one must do is make a combination of at least three squares to eliminate them from the board, sounds simple right? Wrong, once you place a square you must move in a different direction. This adds a welcomed challenge to the game because it will force you to us your best reasoning skills. There are essentially two types of levels in this game one being trying to eliminate the specified squares or trying to eliminate diamonds that are encased in squares. With only two game modes this game does get boring quickly but it is still fun and should not be overlooked because of this fact. For the second game of Puzzle Me week I think that this game is great and you should give it a try.
Well friends this is a sad moment as Puzzle Me Week has been a riot full of headaches and rage but now it must come to an end like everything does and to cap it all off I bring you Puzzlelot(I think it is a play on Camelot). Puzzlelot you play as this little dungeon crawlers whose city has just been destroyed. It is now your duty to go out and rebuild your town and vanquish all the monsters residing in dungeons around your home town. Now you may be thinking why did this BOSO pick a dungeon crawler RPG to be in Puzzle Me week? Well actually this game is a puzzle game like Candy Crush but instead of connecting candy you are connecting swords, shields and gold. When you are in a dungeon you come face to face with monsters, how you defeat the monsters you make a row of at least three swords then you attack the monster, and at least three shields to up your defense. I really liked how this game was made because it will appeal to larger variety of gamers like your hardcore puzzle game fans and your RPG lovers. Puzzlelot is a fantastic game that you will love and this brings us to the conclusion of Puzzle Me week. Enjoy these three titles and see you next week.
